The Broken Clockwork

Sapphire skies shining so bright

Moonbeams twisting their way ahead-

Mystical starlight to guide our way,

And journeys that don't seem to end

The dawns came and passed us by

The sunlight shone in our eyes and glided past...

Now only the nightingale sings its melancholy tune,

The robin we have seen not

Yet our hearts are filled with hope we cant explain,

a longing we can no longer  deny

The thirst to find the bottom of the sea

is slowly taking over our lives

And they called us fools but couldn't see the wisdom

lurking in the depths of one who has seen life

Infinite sorrow, unending joy, untamed happiness...

Unbound by the ironies and follies of life

Unchained to hapless souls that inhabit this sphere,

We are the same as them it seems,

Then why is it we have no fear?

Our arms wide open, our eyes closed,

We walk away towards a journey unknown...

Our shoulders unburdened with the lies of the world-

our ears unheeded to the voices that tried to drown us out

They shifted and swayed, turned and enticed-

but we couldn't accept their lies!

Each a delusional person, each a lost soul

A clockwork toy wound up and used

Morphed into each other,

They echo their contempt!

Yet we break free again to breathe

Our decisions clear and bright

for they forget there is no wrong or right

My black has turned to white

We paint our own picture,

Whether its glossy and garnished

or faded,crumbling to dust

There is only one person who we trust

We look into each other, Our smiles unite

Through the cold, flat surface our hands entwine

And then we look at each other one last time

And each take a direction undiscovered, undefined
